When my husband picked this beautiful bloom from his garden, I wanted to paint it. This golden bloom portrays a vertical spray of yellow gladiolus set against a deep, muted purple field. I used soft, layered pastels and delicate strokes to reveal the petals' subtle folds and inner warmth, while the cool background amplifies their glow.
